Artist Statement:
Our environment undergoes changes at an unrestrained rhythm, applying constant modifications to our daily landscapes, as if the rhythm of our places had exceeded the pace of those which occupy them. In this situation of infinite mobilism, what are the impacts of the transformations of our territories on our identity ? Is the world crafted by man still understandable for mankind ? What are our reference marks ?
It is by sampling and fragmenting knowledges, impressions and memories that I question the bonds maintained with inhabited places and visited territories. These bonds can be of analytical, relational, dialogical and / or symbiotical nature. It is by exploring the possible material combinations between techniques such as infography, silkscreen printing, painting, drawing, sewing and embroiding that I question the brief and complex relations between the human body and it’s immediate space, with the individual mind and it’s ever changing territory, with the memory and the matter allowing it’s existence. Using canevas work, paper work and artist books, I propose sequences and installatives pathways fragmenting the vision and projecting new references marks.
My research tries to push the limits of the pictorial territory by merging new technologies, arte povera and feminine artisanal techniques. |
