Books to film

Gaëlle Pelachaud: "My artistic endeavor is directed towards a new conception in the reading of images. One is an intimate vision seen in a book whereas the other a shared image projected on a wall. I invite the spectator to an intimate more tactile experience with a book, then onto a vertical reading of the image as it is projected on a screen and thus to the discovery of words, voices, and light. The transformation of a book generally concerns either the volume itself, or the text which is treated as a kind of palimpsest, a framework for a new type of writing. Mine is not a wish to destroy but a deep desire to take pages out of their books, out of their boxes, to let loose words and images. ...My research explores the will to create a symbiosis between both categories and to invent intermediary art forms between the freeze frame which stops motion, to the panorama or the animated picture which is a stationary image put into movement."
