The titular house, located in Minnesota's beautiful St. Croix River valley, provides more than a honeymoon cottage for a recently remarried couple who have rented it for the first fragile season of their reconciliation. This is a dramatic meditation on the possibilities of forgiveness and indelible claims of memory. A range of images drawn from the story are presented through a various techniques, including linoleum and woodcut and collage, as each artist responds to the text in his or her own way.

This is MCBA's twelfth Winter Book, an annual series that features text by an established Minnesota author and is created through a collaboration of printers, designers, binders, papermakers, and visual artists.
