Eight double-page scenes of rooms with the front board being the front door and the back board being the back door.

Colophon: "When I discover a 1950's painted tin dollhouse in the flea market, I set my camera in each room and 'walk' through the house this way. The rooms are illuminated by the days' light. The real world seen through the windows becomes the miniature."

Ann Pelikan: "What I really love about these images, and what has become of them, is you really can't tell if you're in a real house. You can see the outdoors with real people, and rooms are illuminated with real light."

This book, a photographic collection of these patterns, is composed of ink jet prints ... The pages are dipped in beeswax to recreate the shine."

Santa Croce - through the cracks

Anne Pelikan: "When I was in Florence to mark the anniversary of the Flood of 1966, I visited the Church of Santa Croce. Its cloisters are connected to the Biblioteca Nationale Centrale where I had worked on the restoration of flood damaged books. Walking through the dark corridor in the cloister, I saw a triangle of light slipping through cracks in a massive wooden door. I heard voices. I placed my camera in the cracks to discover what was behind the door."
