Are we born to hunt?
A skilled hunter handles his weapons not unlike a lover

Colophon: "This is a collaborative artists' book made by the painter, Kim Thomas, and the poet, Ross Gay. The process involved digitally reproducing a number of Kim's paintings, which were then handed off to Ross to manipulate as he wished, which included imposing the loose narrative. The final marks and gestures were made by Kim, as she responded pictorially to the new context. The project relied on a suspension of ownership, allowing the images and symbols to emerge in concert between the collaborators."

What after all is a halo? A noose? A hole? A mouth?
"The halo is a wound through which I see the stupid, stupid, world."            he thought.

Colophon: "This is a the second collaborative artists' book made by the painter, Kim Thomas, and the poet, Ross Gay. Much like their previous collaborative efforts, The Halo Story, evolves from what is, inherently, an improvisational process. That is to say, no official meaning is discussed or suggested at the onset. What begins as a playful dialog and a shared love of intriguing images slowly evolves into a narrative woven together from similar perceptions and experiences. It is this moment of shared revelation (born through what is ironically a suspension of ownership) that gives the collaboration its real momentum and subsequent narrative quality."
