Each of Bendall's poems is accompanied by an O'Brien drawing. The illustration is printed on an overlay page so that the reader sees the words behind the drawing as an echo of the text before actually reading the words.

A collection of ten prose poems, published on the occasion of the author's fiftieth birthday. Whiteman is a Canadian poet and writer living in Los Angeles. He is Director of the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library at UCLA.
